Infatuated as I am with acoustic instruments, I was made aware of cajons by a friend and immediately went to my wood supplier.
Though there is debate about the necessity of tone-woods in a cajon, I went with tone woods out of respect and aesthetic qualities. I used multiple woods not only for aesthetics, but to gain my desired final dimensions for the cajon as a cost-effective measure.
There isn’t much to say here, since a cajon is essentially a box with a snare / vibrating element. The building processes is more / less fully documented photographically.
